Christmas Program Details

November 20, 2008 - 12:01 AM

ACS students have been hard at work for several weeks preparing for the upcoming Christmas musical Meet Me at the Manger. Through the journey of the Magi and their gifts to the Christ child, characters in the story are reminded of the true meaning of Christmas.  The performance is December 2nd at Stonebrook Church at 7pm.  Students should arrive at the church by 6:30. A reception will follow, and families are asked to bring two dozen baked goods to the church that night or to school that day.

On Monday, December 1st, students will have the opportunity to go to Stonebrook for a dress rehearsal.  They will meet at school as usual and then be transported to the church.  Preschool children should not go to the school but should go directly to the church at 8:30am.  Mary, Joseph, Shepherd and Wise Men should bring their costumes with them that day if they have not already brought them to school.   All others can wear regular clothes to the rehearsal, and students using any props should bring them that day if they have not already brought them to school.  Many thanks to Stonebrook for the help of their sound technician and the use of their facilities for this performance!

Some characters need to wear costumes, and that information is as follows:

Mr. Herod: suit or dark pants and button-up shirt with tie, briefcase and cell phone (can be fake)

Miss O’Riley: sweater or shirt in Christmas colors, dress pants or skirt, cell phone (can be fake)

Miss Ellie:  sweater or shirt in Christmas colors, skirt, basket w/small stuffed dog

Emerald: white button-up shirt, dress pants, wooden spoon

Mr. Taylor: dress pants, button-up shirt with tie

Mary*: bathrobe, baby doll wrapped in plain blanket

Joseph*: bathrobe

Shepherd*: bathrobe

Wise Men*: bathrobes, brightly colored if possible

*Those students wearing robes can wear regular clothes underneath them.

All other students are part of the choir and should wear shirts or sweaters in Christmas colors (red, green, white, or Christmas/winter patterns).  Boys should wear dress pants (no jeans, please) and girls may wear dress pants or skirts.  ACS preschool students may wear dress clothes or any Christmas outfit.  Please let me know if you have any questions about costumes or clothing for the program.

Come join us December 2nd for a wonderful program!  I look forward to seeing you there!
