preschool news
The kids are all doing a great job adjusting to preschool. We had a great time this week. The threes are learning about frogs. We have a toad and tree frog in the room to observe, they are a big hit along with the magnifying glasses. Everyone painted a paper frog with sponges; they are now hanging up in the classroom. Everyone got a turn to roll a large dice and then we called out the number in landed on. Sometimes we clapped or sang like a frog that many times. The kids enjoyed doing the “Tooty Ta” too.
The fours have started to work on the letter I. We have begun to work on insects. One day we read “The Grouchy Ladybug” and then found all the insects throughout the book. The kids then made a paper ladybug by using different shapes; they too are hanging up in the classroom. We have talked about the parts of an insect by learning a song called “Head, Thorax, Abdomen. (Don’t worry if you haven’t heard it yet, it is a work in progress.) The kids also started to make a bug out of an egg carton on Friday, which we will finish up next week.
For Bible we read the creation story from “The Big Picture Bible Storybook”. This is the book we will be working with this year for Bible. The fours tore and glued pieces of blue and green paper to make the world. They then drew a picture of themselves beside it. The threes glued pictures of things that God created on a piece of paper. Mrs. Snyder and Mrs. Schafbuch also had some fun songs for us to learn.
No school Monday!
If you are having trouble with your scholastic order just send the order to school and I will take care of it. I have heard that they are having trouble with the website. I will take orders until Wednesday.
Look for a note coming home in your child’s bag about a new code for the front door in the next couple of days.
Have a great weekend!
