Week of October 13-7/8 Science and Math

We had a good week this week as we completed tests in both math and science.

7/8 Earth Science:

Monday 13  We will finish talking about deep sea currents and will learn about tides and how the moon creates tides.

Tuesday 14 Students will study the ocean floor. We will learn about the landscape of the ocean floor and about some of the organisms that exist on the ocean floor.

Wednesday 15 We will review for a quiz over the first 4 sections of this chapter.  Quiz on Thursday.

Thursday 16 Quiz over sections 1-4.  We will also start talking about ocean exploration and mapping of the ocean floor. 

Friday 17   We will finish learning about ocean exploration and mapping of the ocean floor.

Math 7 and 8

Monday 13

   7th and 8th:  We will do a problem solving activity about Columbus Day.

Tuesday 14

7th:  Multiplying and dividing mixed numbers:  Assignment: PS 26 (pg 148) a-i, 20-25

8th: Lesson 29 challenges us to multiply fractions and whole numbers and find parts of a whole number.
      ASSIGNMENT:  PS 29 (pg 86) a-c, 1-20

Wednesday 15

7th:  We will learn lesson 27 using multiples and least common multiples.  No Homework!

8th: Lesson 30 we will learn to read graphs.   ASSIGNMENT:  PS 30 (pg 88) 6-30 (even)

Thursday 16

7th:  Lesson 27- we will review what we learned yesterday and have an assignment.  PS 27 (pg 151) 7-13, 21-26

8th: Review for test on Friday over lessons 1-30

Friday 17

7th: Lesson 28: We will learn how to work certain word problems  PS 28 (pg 161) a-f, 1-5, 23, 26   
    (On Monday we will review and we have a Test on Tuesday)

8th: Test over 1-30
