Week of October 20- 7th and 8th Math and Science
This is the last week of the 1st quarter. Report Cards will be sent home early next week.
7th and 8th Grade Science
Monday 20: We will go over the quiz students took last week to clarify some misunderstandings. Then we will read more about the ocean floor and learn how scientists study the ocean floor.
ASSIGNMENT: Answer review questions. Due tomorrow
Tuesday 21: Now that we've learned about the ocean floor and zones in the ocean, we will briefly study life in the ocean and the different zones in which life exists.
Wednesday 22: I hope to have a video that helps us connect all the different zones and the life that exists in the ocean. If I can't get the video, then we will do a brief research day on the computer. We will have our chapter test on Friday. Start studying!
Thursday 23: We will finish lesson 7 on the resources of the ocean. We will also review for the test tomorrow.
ASSIGNMENT: Test over oceans tomorrow. STUDY!!!!
Friday 24: Test over Oceans.
8th Grade Math
Monday 20: Students will get their tests back today. We will also learn about Least Common Multiples
ASSIGNMENT: PS 31 (pg 91) a,b, 2,6-9,11-17, 23,28
Tuesday 21 We finished learning how to find the LCM and made corrections to our assignment. We will work on adding fractions today by making common denominators if we have time.
ASSIGNMENT: PS 32 (pg 95) a-d, 6-19 Due Thursday
Wednesday 22 we will continue to work on fractions. Finish PS 32
Thursday 23 Order of operation is an important process to learn. We will do multiple problems that challenge us to apply order of operations with all four operations.
ASSIGNMENT: PS 33 (pg 97) a,b, 3, 11-15,23-26
Friday 24 Problem Solving Day
7th Grade Math
Monday 20: No assignment. We took time to go over questions and do some review
Tuesday 21: Today we will review place value and learn how to round to different place values. We will also practice estimating by rounding our numbers.
ASSIGNMENT: PS 29: (Pg 167) a-g, 3,6-10, 19-23
Wednesday 22: We will continue working on fractions, particularly finding common denominators.
ASSIGNMENT: none
Thursday 23: We will complete our work on Lesson 30
ASSIGNMENT: PS 30 (pg 175) a-f, 2-30 (evens)
Friday 24: Problem solving today. No assignment
