Week of November 3, 2008
Book Fair Week and Parent Teacher Conferences
Book Fair: Check out the book and the ACS book wishlists. Students con purchase books from 2-4 each day and during Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday.
Parent Teacher Conferences: Your child will be coming home with your designated time on Monday. If you have any questions, please contact me (contact information will be provided on the sheet.
7th and 8th Earth Science
Monday 3: Minerals have special properties. We will learn what those special properties are today.
Tuesday 4: Minerals have imporant uses. We will learn about that importance and how minerals are used daily.
Wednesday 5th: We will do a lab today that helps us tie all of these properties together.
Thursday 6th: Half Day: We will see where we are at with our science material. We may have a test today or we may do a fun fall activity. I'll update later with the details.
Friday 7th: No School: Conference Comp Day
7th and 8th Grade Math
Monday 3
- 7th: Hand in Lesson 31. We will read the story the Math Curse and do an activity
- 8th: We will go over the math test that was taken on Friday. Then we will read the Story the Math Curse and do an activity.
Tuesday 4

7th: Last week we spent an extra day on coordinate grids, so we will learn about the metric system today. I believe students have some background knowledge of this, so how far we get depends on previous knowledge.
ASSIGNMENT: PS 32 (pg 193) a-d, 1-13,23,29 -
8th: We need to learn about rates yet from lesson 38. Students will do several rate problems. Then we will learn how to subtract mixed numbers and learn to borrow. We will do a fraction worksheet.
Wednesday 5

7th: Lesson 33 teaches students to compare and round decimals.
ASSIGNMENT: PS 33(pg 199) a-h, 1,8-12,19-29 -
8th: Students will continue the topic of subtracting mixed numbers. They will work on lesson 37. ASSIGNMENT: PS 37 (pg 107) a,b 5-9,10-30 (evens)
Thursday 6th

7th and 8th: Students have been very diligent in their work over the last couple of weeks, so today will be a math game day. Yeah!
Friday 7th: NO SCHOOL
